Layaway

Chic Squirrel makes gift-giving and large item purchase affordable with our easy layaway option.

1. Choose merchandise totaling $50 or more (before shipping, taxes, and after coupons).
2. Select Layaway at checkout.
3. Receive and pay initial Layaway invoice within 3 days.
4. Receive and pay additional Pay-off invoices within 60 days.

General Requirements:

-You must be a Chic Squirrel.com member and be logged in to access the Layaway option.
-You must have a valid email address to receive layaway payment invoices.
-All layaway payments must be made with debit/credit card or Paypal account.
-Merchandise must total $50 or more before shipping, applicable taxes and after coupons in order to qualify for   layaway.

Detailed Layaway Process:

Chic Squirrel utilizes a 20%-40%-40% layaway schedule.  After selecting Layaway during checkout, you will receive your first invoice email within 24 hours. This email will request an initial payment of 20% of your entire purchase including shipping costs. You have 3 days to pay the invoice by clicking the link that says:

“PayPal makes it easy to send money. Click below to send this payment.
https://www.examplelink.com.” 
You will then be sent to a Paypal payment page. If you want to pay with Paypal, login and continue.

If you don’t have a Paypal account or would prefer to pay with credit/debit card click the link that says,
“Don't have a PayPal account? Use your credit card or bank account (where available)”
and continue.

BY MAKING THE 20% PAYMENT YOU ARE COMMITTING TO COMPLETE ALL PAYMENTS FOR THE ORDER AND ARE, FROM THAT POINT ON, REGULATED BY THE LAYAWAY AGREEMANT AND ALL CANCELLATION PENALTIES.  If you choose not to make the initial 20% payment within 3 days, your order will be cancelled and there will be no penalty.

Within 5 business days of making the first payment, you will receive 2 more invoices for the remainder of the payments at the same time. Both invoices will be identical and will request an additional 40% payment of your total due. You have 60 days to pay these invoices at your convenience.  Once all three invoices have been paid, your merchandise will be shipped.

Cancellation Policy:

If the payment policy is not met or you decide to cancel your layaway purchase, your order is subject to the following cancellation penalties.

There is NO PENALTY if you cancel before making the initial 20% payment.
There is NO PENALTY for completing all payments before 60 days.
There are no penalties or hidden charges if you would like to pay the layaway off early.

You may not cancel parts or specific items in the layaway order.  You must cancel the entire order or complete the order and return unwanted items. See layaway return policy.

If you cancel your layaway after making the initial payment, you automatically forfeit that 20% payment.
If you cancel your layaway after making the initial payment and any other payments, you automatically forfeit 20% of the total layaway order and the remainder will be returned to you by check or Paypal refund.

Due to unforeseen circumstances, such as item discontinuation or recall, Chic Squirrel.com may have to cancel part or all of your layaway order. You will receive an email explanation if this occurs.
Chic Sqirrel.com reserves the right to cancel your layaway order at any time.

Layaway Return Policy:

Our 30 day return policy applies to layaway orders.  You may not return merchandise that you have not received.  Customer is responsible for return shipping fees. Please see return policy for details.

Legal Disclaimer:

After your initial (first) payment, an automated email will be sent to the email address specified in your order each time your credit/debit card or Paypal account is billed or if the charge is rejected.  It is your responsibility to make sure that you are able to receive emails from us and to update your email address with us if it changes. If you cannot or are not receiving your expected emails, you must notify us so that we can contact you about any billing problems.
